Event description

Description

Our Manchester Roundtable is on the 6th July. We have a really exciting speaker Jim Cassell.

Jim Cassell became Manchester City’s first Academy Manager when the Academy system began in 1998 and by the time he relinquished the role in 2009 the club’s Academy had produced more professional players than any other Premier League club, a record which still stands. Starting with Shaun Wright- Phillips in 1999, 40 players graduated from City’s Academy to the club’s first team. A further 44 players progressed to have professional careers and 27 of these players Cassell worked with went on to become full internationals. In the 2016 European Championships nine players representing various countries were products of City’s Academy while Cassell was Academy Manager and at a conservative estimate, sales of players graduating from the Academy is his twelve years there generated approximately £60 million in transfer revenue for the club.

This is a chance for NextGen Planners to network, discuss opoortunities and threats and also listen to a speaker talk about a relevant topic.
