Day 1: Tuesday 12th January 2021 - Employability Workshops
9:50-10:00am Introduction to the day - Session Leaders: NextStep6 Team
10:00-11:00am CV workshop – Workshop Leader: Solent Futures team. This workshop will help you design your CV / creative CV in a professional manner and examine the key elements that employers tend to focus on.
11:00-12:00pm Practice-based media workshops – Part 1 [attend one of the two listed below]
EITHER:
Adobe After Effects: Tips and tricks for time conscious content producers (Max No. 10) - Workshop Leader: Martin Hughes (Lecturer in Media, Solent University)
In this workshop, you will be guided through useful shortcuts to getting a working Adobe After Effects project up and running with minimum effort. This will serve as a beginner's guide to using After Effects for basic animations and title effects, using the insights of a time-conscious business end user.

Audiograms for social media (Max No. Unlimited) - Workshop Leader: Paul Stevens (Lecturer in Media, Solent University
Sharing audio on social media used to be an issue: but no more! If you’ve got audio you want to share in a highly visual environment like Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram, an audiogram is the answer.

Get that Meeting! A workshop that discusses how common marketing techniques and approaches can be used to help strategise the building of industry networks (Max No. 30) - Workshop Leader: Dr. Roy Hanney (Course Leader Media Production, Solent University)
The session will use the concept of a marketing funnel to brainstorm techniques for building industry contacts and developing those all-important relationships with industry professionals. We will use the online collaboration tool, Miro, to come up with a plan based on participants input and the results will be shared with everyone after the session

Improving Composition (Max No. Unlimited) - Workshop Leader: Frankie Murdoch (Media Lecturer, Solent University)
In this session we will discuss rules of composition, look at examples and plan creative ways you can improve the composition of your photographs.
1:00–1:30pm Lunch break and online networking opportunities
1:30-3:00pm Online self-branding workshop - Workshop Leader: Chris Key (Head of Strategy, Rubber Duckers, Winchester)
This workshop focuses on brand 'you'. You will learn about how to market yourself professionally across all elements of your online presence.
3:00–4:00pm: How to break into the media world – Workshop Leader: Ross Chapman (Head of Content, Rubber Duckers, Winchester)
This workshop will explore the most effective strategies to help kickstart your media career.
4:00-4:30pm Q&A with Chris Key (Head of Strategy, Rubber Duckers, Winchester) and Ross Chapman (Head of Content, Rubber Duckers, Winchester)
Day 2: Wednesday 13th January 2021 - Media conference
10:00am-12:00pm: Media industry talks - recent Solent alumni and seasoned industry professionals specialising in content creation will speak about their experience within the industry, career progression and more. This will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion.

2:45-3:15pm Creative Student Awards: this will consist of a showreel of the best entries for the Creative Student Awards, followed by the awards ceremony and showcase of our winners.
3:15-4:00pm Online networking opportunities - conference attendees will have the opportunity for small group conversations with the invited guest speakers.
