Hailing from a renowned family of lawyers and following their footsteps, Ayushi Kundu currently practices as an Advocate at the Calcutta High Court. She did her schooling from Loreto House in Kolkata, then completed her graduation in law from the Department of Law, Calcutta University, securing second position. Thereafter, she pursued an LLM in Human Rights Law from Queen Mary University of London, United Kingdom, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from London Metropolitan University. She has a keen interest in human rights of women and children, and frequently writes on these areas, and her articles have been previously published in various academic journals.
In June 2019, Ayushi was elected as the Soroptimist International President’s Appeal Coordinator, along with Olga Sidenko from Switzerland, for Soroptimist International President Sharon Fisher’s Appeal: The Road to Equality. It is through this role that Ayushi has been able to gain immense exposure into the larger world of Soroptimism and the advocacy work done by Soroptimist International at the United Nations.
Apart from Soroptimist, Ayushi is also involved in Rotaract…the youth body of Rotary International. In 2016, she chartered and became the Founder President of Rotaract Club of Calcutta Presidency, which went on to receive the Best New Club Award in Rotary International District (RID) 3291 for 2016-2017, and she won the Best Debutante Rotaractor for the same year. In 2017, she was appointed as the Legal Advisor for the Rotaract District Committee of RID 3291.
