NHS Forest Conference 2014: Creating Healing Environments
Event Information
Description
The NHS Forest is coordinated by The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare to create accessible outdoor therapeutic environments for patients, staff and the local community. It helps patients by aiding their recovery as well as benefiting people’s physical and mental health and wellbeing. This year's NHS Forest conference focuses on Creating Healing Environments and will share some of the wonderful activities and ideas that have developed at NHS Forest sites over the past few years via:
- presentations,
- interactive workshops,
- and a visit around Lancashire Care's Guild Park, home to an inspirational Grow Your Own project which won the overall NHS Sustainability Day Award in April 2014.
We will also be offering four categories of awards to individual NHS Forest sites each with a £200 cash prize including:
- Largest Number of Trees Planted
- Most Innovative Site
- Best Community Engagement
- Most Pioneering Use of Green space by Healthcare Professionals
One of those awards will then be given an additional £200 as
- Overall Award Winner
The cost to attend is £30, but if you wish to come and can't afford the fee please contact Mary Zacaroli.
More details of the day are available on the NHS Forest website.
