This follows our incredible session on health data with Ben Goldacre and other thought leaders.

- Neil Modha - Chairman, Greater Peterborough Network
- Stephanie Harvey - NHS Collaborations Manager, Eli Lilly
- Hamish Dibley - Consulting Director, BearingPoint
- Jon Rouse - City Director, Stoke-on-Trent Council
- Des Breen - National Clinical Advisor for System Transformation, NHSE/I
- Claire Fuller - Chief Executive, Surrey Heartlands Health & Care Partnership
- Richard Murray - Chief Executive, The King's Fund
Delivering integration to overcome barriers that exist between the health and care sectors has been an objective of the UK for many years. These barriers are well recognised by the NHS and life sciences sector, characterised by the differences that exist in funding, governance, regulation and accountability between health and care services. The lack of integration between healthcare services is limiting our ability to drive down health inequalities, deliver more personalised care and install greater population health management. The UK now faces the challenge of finding implementable solutions to establish integration of services at the national level.
The session will discuss:
- Integrated Care Systems
- Population Health
- Provider Collaboratives
The session is designed to focus on solutions and not restate the problem, therefore we ask participants to join the session with ideas for how to fix the variance in service provision. Ideally, the Commission is looking for examples of best practice that could be scaled to other parts of the UK.
About the Commission:
Through an implementation-based approach, the NHS Innovation and Life Sciences Commission will publish an assessment of the key issues facing the NHS and life sciences sector. The Commission focuses on placing innovation at the heart of the sector to improve health outcomes, increase economic growth and reduce inequalities. Bringing together civil society, local/regional government, NHS and industry leaders and policy experts, the Commission will combine data, strategy, and case studies to create implementable recommendations to overcome these problems.
