This event is for all GP Practice Managers who are the main point of contact for administering the NHS Pension Scheme for GPs working at the surgery.
The event is delivered by the NHS Business Services Authority. We administer the NHS Pension Scheme on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care.
The event is free to attend but spaces are limited, and tickets must be booked in advance.
The course will start at 10am and finish at approximately1.30pm with a break included.
The level 1 session will cover:
The NHS Pension Scheme website, Annual Benefit Statements and roles and responsibilities which includes:
• NHS Pensions website overview
• How to access an Annual Benefits Statement so you can advise members
• Annual Benefit Statements explanation and reasons why a statement may not be produced
• Disclosure regulations - what actions you must take when a member joins the NHS Pension Scheme including auto enrolment vs contractual enrolment and how they interact (The NHS Pension Scheme is a qualifying scheme for the Auto Enrolment Government Initiative)
• Roles of an administrator including payroll actions and overview of Primary Care Support England (PCSE) who are the local administrators for GPs, Salaried GPs and Non-GP Partners
Please be aware that you will need to attend both the level 1 and level 2 events to qualify for continued professional development (CPD). When you have completed all sessions, a CPD accreditation will be provided.
If you register and then are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can reallocate your reserved place to the next available person.
