Join us on the 15th October 2025 for our NHS Recruitment Open Day at Ravenswood House Mental Health Hospital near Fareham
You'll get to meet the ward teams, our patients, as well as tour the hospital site. If you're a good fit for us, we'll be offering individuals the opportunity to interview on the day.
We'll be running three slots throughout the day, please keep to you allotted time.
Looking for a role where you can make a real difference? As a Healthcare Support Worker, you’ll work closely with our service users and their families, supporting them through their recovery and ensuring they have a positive and compassionate experience.
No previous care experience? No problem. As long as you have the right values and a willingness to learn, we’ll provide you with full training and support to get started. Many of our current staff began their careers with us in exactly the same way.
You’ll need to be comfortable working a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, but we’ll ensure you are fully supported as you gain confidence.
Ravenswood House
This role is based at Ravenswood House, in Knowle, just outside of Fareham. Made up of four specialist wards, the hospital is a medium secure unit for adults with serious mental illness and/or personality disorders, with patients coming to us from high secure hospitals, prisons, or the courts.
Training and development
As a Trust, we are passionate about training and upskilling staff. You won't just be left on a ward to fend for yourself. You can expect a two day induction at our head office in Southampton, as well as continous on the job training once you are in post.
For those wishing to advance their careers, there are opportunities for senior support worker roles, as well as nursing associate apprenticeship pathways.

To be interviewed and successfully offered a role with us, you will need to bring you with three (3) forms of identification and proof of address so we can process your pre-employment checks.
Accepted forms of photographic ID include:
- Passport
- Full or provisional UK drivers photocard license
- Overseas photocard drivers license (valid up to 12 months from arrival in the UK)
- HM Armed Forces Identify Card (UK)
- Identify cards carrying the PASS accreditation logo
- EEA government issued biometric identity card
- eVisa
Accepted proof of address:
- Utility bill from service provider (must be issued within the last 3 months)
- Local tax authority statement (for example, council tax statement)
- Photocard drivers license, if not used as photographic ID
- HMRC tax notification
- Financial statement such as bank or building society or credit card statement
- Mortgage statement (must be dated within the last 12 months)
Additional accepted non-photographic forms of ID
- Full UK birth certificate
- Full birth certificate issued by UK authorities overseas
- Most recent HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) tax notification such as P45 or P60
- Work permit/residency permit (UK) valid up to the expiry date
- Adoption certificate
- Marriage or civil partnership certificate
- Divorce, dissolution or annulment papers
- Gender recognition certificate
- Firearms certificate/licence (UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man ONLY)
- Certificate of employment in the HM Forces
