Hear from three charities supporting Armed Forces children and families and how you can best support in your daily practice
About this event
The Veterans Covenant Healthcare Alliance presents a workshop for NHS organisations who provide healthcare for children and families within the Armed Forces community.
Children and families in the Armed Forces Community face unique challenges due to the transient nature of serving in the military. Frequent relocations and deployment, loss of support structures and moving schools can often mean that they may experience difficulties accessing healthcare services and have different needs compared to those of the civilian population.
This event is aimed at NHS staff who work in Children and families in any capacity. For example:
Childrens Hospitals/ Paediatric and Maternity Wards/ Childrens Mental Health Services/ Therapy Services/ Community Healthcare/ Ambulance services
The workshop will consist of talks from three charities; Reading Force, Scotty’s Little Soldiers and Little Troopers, who will describe the services they provide along with case studies and how best you can support Forces Children and families in your role.
