Description

NHSCC National Members Event 2017

This year the NHSCC national members’ event for CCG leaders will focus on making strategic commissioning work. This annual event, which was last year attended by more than 100 clinical commissioning leaders, gives delegates the chance to hear from high profile speakers and network with each other, sharing challenges and opportunities.

The agenda is themed around making strategic commissioning work. At the heart of this for CCGs is how we ensure that in the changing landscape, clinical leadership remains embedded in healthcare commissioning so that we can make most effective use of the NHS’ limited resources for the benefit of our patients and populations. Our agenda will consider how we make sure STPs succeed in delivering new models of care for patients, the emergence of accountable care systems and how all these pieces of the jigsaw are slotting in to place

Keynote speakers are:

  • Simon Stevens, CEO, NHS England

  • Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Health

The latest programme can be found on the NHSCC event webpage.

Drinks reception and dinner – 1 November

We will also be holding a networking drinks reception and dinner on Wednesday 1 November, the evening before the event. Places are limited, so we recommend booking early.

What did last year’s delegates say about the event?

Feedback from delegates on last year’s event included:

“I’ve found today really helpful, there’s a strong sense of community among commissioners and the sense that clinicians are still leading the agenda.”

“The opportunity to discuss issues with other accountable officers and senior leaders from CCGs who are experiencing the same challenges but in different contexts, learning from the approaches they’re taking and reflecting on how you can use that locally is always valuable.”

Delegates

The majority of delegates that attend our national event are chairs, accountable officers and CFOs but we would also encourage CCGs to invite directors to attend. Each of our member CCGs has three delegate places each – so make sure you use them!
