Description

On International Women’s Day, the UK Government published the Rose Review, a report on the barriers to women starting and growing their business.

Key findings include:

  • Women make up 33% of entrepreneurs in the UK
  • Achieving parity in start up rates could generate an additional £250bn to the UK economy
  • Currently 1p in every £1 of VC funding goes to female led businesses
  • Networks cannot be under estimated

In partnership with Ulster Bank, Invest NI, Women In Business, Queen’s University Belfast, Dell Technologies and Belfast City Council are pleased to be hosting the NI Female Investment Day in Belfast on the 26th September. The event will address/ break down some of the barriers, focussing on:

  • Role models
  • Networks
  • Investment

The event is free to attend and brings together female entrepreneurs and investors and funders. Focussing on the investment landscape, attendees will meet entrepreneurs and funders, hear from those who have raised and those who have invested, as well as a panel discussion. There will also be opportunity for one to one meetings. The event will educate, inform, inspire and build connections.

Further information on agenda and speakers will be released soon. Tickets are on a first come, first served basis and are limited.
