NICON Associate Membership Meeting - Sharing and Learning; NI, Wales & England

3.30- 5.30pm, Inspire Wellbeing Centre, Lombard Street, Belfast, Wednesday 28 August 2019

Dear Associate Members,

As you may be aware, NICON has over 50 associate members drawn from a range of organisations working closely with the HSC. We generally plan in at least one specific member meeting per year to explore how we can maximise the value of the vehicle of NICON to support members and the wider system. To make the best use of our time together, we are suggesting dividing the meeting in to three key elements:

  • General Sharing - How are colleagues moving forward with their strategic priorities in the current environment. Are there common issues emerging?
  • Engagement in England and Wales; Hear from Nesta Lloyd Jones, Assistant Director, Welsh NHS Confederation and Gemma Whysall, Regional Lead for East Midlands and East of England about how the NHS Confederation are developing their associate member work in the context of integration as the confederation explores how better to support members and Local Integrated Care systems work with partners, building more collaborative approaches. How can the associate membership scheme in Northern Ireland inform others – what can we learn from emerging work in the other nations?
  • NICON 2020 will be held on the 23/24 April 2020 again in La Mon. What are associate members priorities for shaping next year’s conference? Are there people you would like to bring, or things you would like to see more of on the agenda?

Tony Stevens, Chief Executive NHSCT and Chair of NICON will chair this discussion, and we will be joined by several other NICON HSC members. We do trust that this will be a valuable conversation.
