Research for Impact  Seminar series: Nigeria’s   quest   for   diversification   through   agriculture     and   the   wider   issues    

Event Reference   :   RFIM01

Research for Impact Seminar series   is organized by Proficient Research, Innovations   and Development (PRID)  at  regular intervals as needs arises. The series   focus   on   wide  topical    issues   especially as it affects   developing     countries. Each   seminar is expected   to   run for 2-3 hours; registrations,   presentations, pitches, discussions   and   networking. Actual     format   and agenda   may differ   from one   seminar   to   the   other.   This   is   one of PRID’s   programmes   where   opportunities   exist   for   presentations and pitches  to be   made by     academics (lecturers, researchers, students)    and   non-academics (policy   makers, professional   agricultural scientists, food   scientists, food   technologists, farmers, food processors,   agri-food business owners)  alike.  

 Presentations     by   each   speaker   will     last for   15  minutes; presentations   and   discussions (question and   answer).

 There   is also   opportunities   for     pitch   presentations;   each   pitch   presenter   will   have   a   maximum   of   4   minutes.    

The   theme   of   the   forthcoming     event in the   series   is   ‘Nigeria’s   quest   for   diversification   through   agriculture     and   the   wider   issues’

 Conventional   versus   organic farming:   which way forward for   agriculture   in Nigeria (15 minutes)  

 Factors   that will determine   the growth and development   of certified     organic agriculture in Nigeria (15 minutes)

 Nigeria’s   quest   to diversify   the economy     through   agriculture   in the   face   of climate change:   an opinion (15 minutes)  

 Organic farming   and agricultural economics   in Nigeria:   the way   I see   it  (15 minutes)          

 Technical   partners needed to revolutionise   Nigeria’s   agricultural sector   (15 minutes)

 Factors that   will determine youth   participation in agriculture   in Nigeria   (15 minutes)

First,    prepare     word   document   not exceeding   15 pages   with all relevant sections   and     send to us at   pridiorg@gmail.com before the deadline we gave.   Check   our website   pridglobal.com     for   guidance   and   further information about   how to prepare   word   documents   for   presentations   at   our events.    

Participants, whose presntations in word format are accepted,  will then be   required   to   prepare   power point presentations  which should range   between       5-16 slides       for     participants   with presentations.   They   are expected to send   their   presentations   to us at   pridiorg@gmail.com.   Check   our website   pridglobal.com     for   guidance   and   further information about   how to prepare   power point   documents   for   presentations   at   our events.    

Pitch   Presenters:     Pitch presenters     can prepare     1-2   power   point slides       and      send to us     at   pridiorg@gmail.com. Pitch   presenters   are also free to pitch     without       submitting   any document       to us   prior to   the event.
