Night Navigation Experience
Event Information
Description
Join one of our expert leaders for a fun few hours navigating in the hills, moorlands and woods long after the sun has gone down!
Meeting in the lovely Blacksmith Arms (Lastingham) we will enjoy a hot drink whilst you guide goes over the plans for the night. From here we will then head out into the North York Moors and spend around three hours learning some handy hints and tips on how to navigate at night. How do you find your way when you can only see for a few metres around you? We’ll reveal the secrets and methods you can use. Although it can sound intimidating, you’ll soon find that it’s a lot of fun, especially being out with a leader who knows what they’re doing and a group keen to have a great time.
On the way you could well spend some time stargazing, listen out for wildlife that only comes out at night, and see the local area in a whole new way. We’re sure that whatever your previous level of map and compass skills, you’ll find something useful to take away from the night.
