Event description

Description

This special, invite-only event is proudly supported by Level39.

Join us on the 39th floor of One Canada Square for a night filled with adventure, in aid of
Hope and Homes for Children.

‘Night of Adventure’ will see an eclectic collection of first-class adventurers, from across the spectrum of explorers, daredevils and pioneers, come together to share their experiences with a live audience.

Each speaker is limited to just 20 slides to accompany their tales, shown on a big screen. The challenge is that each slide will automatically scroll forward after just 20 seconds. It’s fast. It’s furious, but, ultimately, it’s a chance to be swept away to a world filled with adventure, all without leaving your seat.

We welcome you to join us at 18.30 for a complimentary drink, with talks to begin at 19.00. Following a series of inspiring talks we invite you to join us for a post-event reception in Space39, a dynamic space with unrivalled views of the city.

Who's involved?

Our host for the evening is author, filmmaker and record-breaking adventurer, Dave Cornthwaite. Alongside his adventures, Dave founded SayYesMore, a life-fulfilling movement that helps nudge people towards finding out what they're truly capable of.

We also have an exciting line-up of speakers confirmed, including:

Rosie Swale-Pope MBE – the only person in history, man or woman, to have undertaken a solo, unsupported run around our world!

Kiko Matthews – the fastest female to row the Atlantic, solo and unsupported

Ed Pratt – a young adventurer who cycled round the world, on a unicycle!

Family by Cycle – a family with three young children who enjoy cycling adventures

Sandy Hennis – a member of the Ice Maiden expedition, comprising of six British women, who used muscle power alone to ski coast-to-coast across Antarctica.

Arjun Bhogal – completed a 25,000km walk, from the UK to Australia!

Clare Dyson – has completed adventures in Cumbria with her pony, Pansy

Sally Orange – completed seven marathons on seven continents, dressed as seven different pieces of fruit!

Laura Bingham – led an all-female team to attempt the first ever descent of South America’s third-largest river, the Essequibo River

What's the charity?

All funds raised will go to the charity Hope and Homes for Children. Orphanages do not protect children. They harm them. Which is why we are working towards a day where every child can grow up in a loving family. Hope and Homes for Children is a global expert in the field of deinstitutionalisation – supporting children into loving families and preventing family breakdown. With your support we are building a global movement that will eliminate orphanages in our lifetime.

Will I need to bring anything?

There will be a bar available during the evening and a charity raffle with the opportunity to win some incredible prizes from some well-known adventure brands, so do consider bringing cash with you.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?

If you have any questions about the event please contact Hope and Homes for Children directly at community@hopeandhomes.org or call 01722 790111.
