Forest therapy, also known as forest bathing or shinrin-yoku, involves immersing oneself in a forest environment to promote mental and physical well-being. The practice originated in Japan in the 1980s as a response to the high-stress levels and increasing urbanization in society. It is now a recognized form of preventative health care and natural healing. The mindful practices can be adapted to any natural environment.

In a world that is increasingly dominated by technology and constant connectivity, taking the time to unplug and unwind in nature has never been more important. Spending time in nature has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce cortisol levels, and boost immune function. Additionally, the peaceful surroundings of the forest can help calm the mind and improve cognitive function.

A typical session will have time for three or four “invitations” which I will introduce. These are activities which I will introduce and are tried and tested to strengthen your connection to nature and bring calm.
