NIHR CLAHRC National Conference: for early-mid postdoc research careers in allied health professions
This event is free, but please register as soon as possible as spaces are limited
This unique, interactive conference aims to showcase opportunities, to provide role models and to facilitate first-rate networking opportunities for postdoctoral allied health profession researchers.
The focus is to demonstrate the importance of self-efficiency, entrepreneurship and transferable skills in health research.
Keynote speakers will include a diverse panel of nationwide researchers from the areas of rehabilitation, music therapy, physiotherapy and podiatry. Each will share their own experiences and insider knowledge on how to achieve and sustain a diverse and successful career pathway.
The Centre for Research Staff Development (CRSD) will begin the day with a networking ‘How-To’, ensuring that delegates are able to use the event to its full potential.
Representatives from the NIHR Research Design Service (RDS) will be present on the day to discuss the preparation of competitive grant applications and the support that the RDS can provide.
The event will also provide an opportunity for leading AHPs from around the UK to network, share innovation and spark collaborations, whilst simultaneously inspiring a new generation of clinical academic research leads.
How do I get to the venue?
The venue is directly opposite the entrance of Euston Station or a 10-minute walk from King’s Cross Station
The day will begin at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am start and finish at 4:15 pm.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided free of charge to attendees by Friends House, who source organic, fairtrade and locally produced food where possible, as part of their sustainable and ethical commitments.
Programmes will be sent out to all registered attendees when all tickets have been allocated.
This event is organised by the Department of Academic Physiotherapy, King's College London and NIHR CLAHRC South London.
What is CLAHRC South London?
The Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) South London is a research organisation that brings together researchers, health professionals, NHS managers, commissioners, patients and service users in south London. Our aim is to improve health services by investigating the best way to implement research results and clinical guidelines that demonstrate the most effective treatments and ways of working. We are funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), the research arm of the NHS.
