Technologies Driving Precision Medicine
An exciting one-day, interactive event that will identify the challenges and rewards of taking a great innovative idea all the way from concept to commercial product. This event is open to clinicians, patients, academics, scientists and industry partners looking to work together to advance patient care by accelerating new science and technologies into patient benefit.
Professor Andrew Owen
Andrew is professor of Molecular and Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool. He is Chair of the British Society for Nanomedicine and a fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. Research focuses on mechanisms that underpin interpatient variability in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
Dr Phil O’Connell
Phil is the NHS Innovator of the Year 2012, inventor of the NHS's simple telehealth Florence service and a Chartered IT Professional. Specialising in organisational, process and business change and has a wealth of NHS telehealth and commercial sector experience. Phil is currently using his unique approach to assist NHS organisations throughout the UK. Phil has recently been appointed as Honorary Lecturer at Keele University School of Medicine and is a visiting fellow of Health Sciences at Staffordshire University.
Professor Pietro Valdastri
Pietro has recently be appointed Chair in Robotics & Autonomous Systems at Leeds his areas of expertise include surgical robotics; robotic endoscopy; robotic actuators; magnetic manipulation; medical capsule robots; small scale design and manufacturing; medical robotics. He is the founder the Science and Technologies Of Robotics in Medicine (STORM) Lab (https://my.vanderbilt.edu/stormlab/), a research lab focusing on medical capsule robots for gastrointestinal endoscopy and abdominal surgery.
The Colorectal Therapies Healthcare Technology Co-operative is a national forum for the development of technologies and minimally invasive therapies in colorectal disease.
The National Meeting 2016 will bring together the current key players in the HTC's national network - including experts in the HTC's 3 key research themes of nanotechnology, biosensing and engineering - and introduce and welcome potential new collaborators. The day will include talks by celebrated keynote speakers who will share their personal experience of the innovation pathway. There will also be networking sessions, an industry expo, poster presentations and lots more!

There is exihibition space at this year's meeting and we are offering companies and funders the chance to have a stand to showcase new products and funding opportunities.
We are running a poster exhibition where researchers can display current research relevant to colorectal disease.
