About this Event

NIHR Manchester BRC Networking and Webinar Series

The BRC’s Rapid Translational Incubator signposts researchers to appropriate support when setting up and running trials and studies in Greater Manchester. We now run networking events and webinars to discuss solutions to common problems in a supportive peer network. The webinars provide an overview of the support available in Manchester and to highlight an overview of processes/people to contact.

Theme: Sponsorship advice for trials and studies at the University of Manchester

All research falling under the remit of the Secretary of State for Health must have a formal sponsor. This includes all research in health and social care that involve NHS patients, their tissue or information. The role of sponsor ensures that proper arrangements are in place to initiate, manage and report on a study. This webinar will provide an overview of sponsorship processes at the University of Manchester.

Mohammed Zubair, Research Governance, Ethics and Integrity Team, Directorate of Research and Business Engagement, University of Manchester

Clare Griffin, Research Integrity and Governance Manager, The Christie

Host: Jacky Smith, Rapid Translational Incubator Cross Cutting Theme Lead / Improving Respiratory Symptoms Programme Lead, NIHR Manchester BRC. Medical Director, NIHR Manchester Clinical Research Facility
