Please join me from 1:00pm on Thursday 15th June to reflect on the demands of the new English curriculum and how to take the teaching of reading at KS2 (including guided reading) through to the next level. The afternoon focuses on the teaching of comprehension at KS2, and will illustrate the importance of interpreting the National Curriculum requirements in the context of a pedagogy that provides challenge and develops independence and responsibility.

Nikki Gamble is the founder and Director of Just Imagine Story Centre. Formerly a teacher and lecturer in education, Nikki has been involved in reading promotion and development for over 30 years. She in an Honorary Fellow at the University of Winchester and is serving on the national committee of UKLA. Nikki is passionate about the teaching of reading and writing, with a particular focus on developing children's skills as they progress through the junior years. She is a consultant on the independent reading series, Treetops and has advised on Oxford University Press Bookmatch website.
