NINA FOREVER Q&A Screening (26 Oct)
Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Ben and Chris Blaine will join us for special Q&A screening of their award-winning horror-comedy, NINA FOREVER, which they jointly wrote, directed and edited.
Thanks to the support of our funders, we are able to offer discounted tickets for this developmental screening event to eligible creative industry professionals. Even better, the cost will be reimbursed after the event to those who attend!
After his girlfriend Nina dies in a car crash, Rob unsuccessfully attempts suicide. As he begins to overcome his grief, he falls in love with a co-worker, Holly. Their relationship is complicated when Nina, unable to find rest in the afterlife, comes back to life to sarcastically torment them whenever they have sex. Rob and Holly must find some way to deal with the situation and put Nina to rest.
Tender, silly, strange, beautiful, erotically charged and gory, NINA FOREVER is dazzling treatment of the contradictory and complex nature of grief, as well as a diabolically effective anti-date movie.
Presented in partnership with Candle & Bell and Tyneside Cinema, this event will be an opportunity to hear from the brothers about their experiences throughout the lifecycle of the film, including of running a famously successful crowd-funding campaign, debuting at SxSW before a successful festival run and being picked up by StudioCanal for UK distribution. They will also discuss their views of low and micro-budget filmmaking as a place where artists and audiences can take risks, as well as taking questions from the audience.
When: Wednesday 26 October, 6pm – c.8pm
Where: Tyneside Cinema (Electra), 10 Pilgrim Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 6QG
