Description

Join hundreds of Muslim & Jewish women on 5th March for Nisa-Nashim’s inaugural conference at Westminster University. This ground-breaking and powerful event aims to bring together Jewish and Muslim women of all ages from across the UK, to focus on how our similarities are greater than our differences, and to consider how we can contribute to a more cohesive society.

There will also be an element of leadership development throughout the day, so that delegates can return to their communities with new skills.

Doors open at 9:30am for registration and Coffee/Tea with the conference starting at 10am prompt.

Nisa-Nashim’s conference aims to:

Create Connections:

  • Creating lasting connections between Jewish and Muslim Women
  • Developing Muslim Jewish relationships
  • Learning and connecting to each other’s faith

Speaking Out:

  • Highlight the outstanding work our women are doing across the country
  • Show the wider world how women are breaking barriers and challenging the narrative

Increase Confidence:

  • Learning from women who are changing the world
  • Participate in workshops to build leadership skills
  • Learning more about anti-semitism and anti-Islam

Increase opportunities for and awareness of social action

  • Learn how to contribute to a more cohesive society
  • Share best practices for social action
  • Work together to develop innovative ways for social action

Speakers:

National Co-Chairs Laura Marks and Julie Siddiqi will be leading the conference including Members of Parliament, academics, as well as representatives of the media, business, charity and community organisations.

The Cavendish Campus is situated near to the following national rail stations:

  • London Euston - 0.7 miles
  • London Kings Cross St Pancras - 1.1 miles
  • London Marylebone - 1.2 miles

The Cavendish Campus is situated near to the following underground stations:

  • Warren St - Northern line, Victoria line

Tickets:

Tickets are priced at £30 (plus Eventbrite fee) with a caveat that no one should be prevented from attending owing to financial reasons. The true cost of the event is much higher, however we are determined that cost be no barrier to those wishing to attend and consequently have halved our ticket prices. We will be most grateful to those individuals who wish to contribute additionally by purchasing a donation ticket and offsetting their reduced admission. Simply select your general ticket along with the donation ticket.

The University of Westminster may cover the costs of any of its students wishing to attend.

Please note we are not able to offer refunds once tickets have been purchased.
