Azad, a young British Bangladeshi man, grows up in East London and falls into drug addiction. Despite several interventions, he remains trapped in a destructive cycle. This brings despair to his parents. Desperate for a positive change, they arrange his marriage to Amina, a young woman from Bangladesh. They do not reveal his addiction. After arriving in London, she uncovers Azad’s secret. She endures his erratic behaviour and violent outbursts. Yet, instead of leaving, she believes her love can heal him. Through unwavering care, patience and sacrifice, Amina helps Azad break free from addiction. But the years of suffering take a toll and Amina’s mental health deteriorates. She becomes forgetful, emotionally fragile, and withdrawn. She also has uncertain immigration status. The woman who saved Azad now needs saving. Witnessing her decline, Azad is refuses his parents’ suggestion to send her back to Bangladesh. He chooses to fight for her recovery and find a path to healing through mutual love and kindness. Love becomes a force of redemption, proving that healing is not one-sided but a cycle of mutual care.
