- Bazooka Arts
- LAMH
Scottish Recovery Network promotes and supports mental health recovery. Our vision is:
“Together we can make Scotland a place where people expect mental health recovery and are supported at all stages of their recovery journey.”
Our mission is to bring people, services, and organisations across sectors together to create a mental health system powered by lived experience which supports everyone’s recovery journey. Collaboration and lived experience are central to our work.
Join us at the VANL Recovery Seminar to learn more about how Lanarkshire is promoting mental health recovery. Our session will look at
· what is mental health recovery
· what supports mental health recovery
· how local organisations can promote recovery and support people in their recovery journey
Stigma Free Lanarkshire is a movement for change that brings together people who are passionate about challenging mental health stigma and discrimination to enable people who experience mental health problems to live fulfilled lives. Promoting a Stigma Free Lanarkshire is at the heart of action plans such as Good Mental Health for All and the Lanarkshire Mental Health Strategy. One of the programme’s key aims is that recovery from mental health problems will be more widely understood and that people believe that recovery is possible.
Our session will look at:
· An overview of our Gathering Recovery Stories project
· The uniqueness of each person’s story and the benefits of telling your story, your way
· Short film: My Story of Recovery
Bazooka Arts is a charity which aims to provide therapeutic arts programmes and opportunities for all through therapeutic arts programmes and volunteering projects; in particular people affected by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), social isolation, poverty and long-term health conditions. Bazooka Arts aim to reduce health inequalities and support positive change for participants, operating on principles of community empowerment and equality, using a person-centred approach in which beneficiaries are placed at the centre of their own recovery journey.
Bazooka Arts will be delivering a presentation which showcases their work in the community, and the variety of approaches they employ to support participant recovery.
LAMH Is a Lanarkshire based charitable company providing a range of community based mental health support services throughout the localities of Lanarkshire, as well as an information resource, charity shop, café and wellbeing centre. We are committed to working in partnership to deliver quality mental health and wellbeing services and resources that promote wellbeing, independence, inclusion, recovery and challenge stigma.
Our vision is of mentally healthy communities where everyone is included and their mental health experience valued.
Our session will demonstrate one person’s journey through our service. It will be delivered by the person in the form of scripted questions and answers and will highlight the positive impact their journey has had on their life.
