NLA Walking Tour: Introduction to... The City of London

In the capital’s commercial heart are some of the biggest and strangest skyscrapers in the country. We see them on the news every day, but how many of us know how they actually get built? On this tour, we’ll walk between the giants that straddle London’s skyline and dish the gossip on the planning permission fights that go on behind the scenes.

We’ll explore the dizzying contrasts to be found in a 2000-year-old city, with tiny medieval churches crammed right next to towering glass spires. We’ll discover a building that breathes, the sci-fi tangle of pipes that houses a centuries-old insurance market, and the biggest buildings London never built.
