Event description

Description

The North Lancashire Counselling Service have invited Julie Allison to run a session aimed at raising awareness and providing an understanding of PTSD. Along with dissociative disorders in adult survivors of childhood abuse from a survivor's perspective.

However, many of the symptoms and experiences are typical in those who have experienced traumatic events arising from a variety of circumstances and at any stage of life.

The following recent comments are typical attendee feedback:

“It was really illuminating [and] far more pertinent to listen for two hours than pour over textbooks for a similar amount of time. Not just an informative session but a truly helpful one.”

“The talk was a good mix of theory and lived experience. It is so important that people whether professionals or survivors are taught about this condition as it is so wrongly and under diagnosed.”

“Provided some clarity, reminders of how important it is to look beyond/underneath someone’s behaviour.”
