About the speaker:

Alex Andreou is a writer, journalist and actor of Greek origin. He’s written for the Guardian, the New Statesman, and also for BBC Radio 4 and Byline, a radical platform for independent journalism, as well as a number of British and Greek publications. He has given several TED talks, and is a keen anti-poverty campaigner, political commentator and advocate for migrants’ rights. As an actor, he has performed at the National Theatre, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Southbank Centre, Southwark Playhouse and Manchester Royal Exchange, among others. He also has a background in law and market investigation. He tweets as @sturdyalex.
