Event description

Description

Delivered by Jane McLean of Cheshire Dance, this session on feedback is ideal for managers, those giving feedback to colleagues (Programme Leaders/ Peer mentors), academic staff who facilitate effective feedback to students and students who want to feel empowered looking at their own and others’ work.

This session will train you on Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process (CRP), a method for giving and receiving feedback on work in progress, designed to leave the maker eager and motivated to get back to work. This technique looks at how we facilitate and give feedback in a way which keeps our own biased opinions and assumptions out of it and instead gives the receiver a safe, focused environment in which to get the feedback they need to keep going forward with their work/project/idea through finding their own solutions and drawing their own conclusions. Through the supportive structure of its four steps, CRP combines the power of questions with the focus and challenge of informed dialogue.

To get the most out of this session, participants are invited to bring something to receive feedback on in the group and 121 section of this workshop, this may be part of written document, a situation, an idea or anything else that you may wish to receive feedback on.
