Event description
Join us for an interactive forum to network and discuss opportunities to address the injustice of NRPF (No Recourse to Public Funds).

About this Event

No recourse to public funds or NRPF hit the news during the pandemic when Boris Johnson seemed to not know what it was. However, this principle has existed in policy for some time. Essentially, anyone without Indefinite Leave to Remain – i.e. permission to call Britain home with no time limit – does not have access to most services or benefits provided by public funds. What has become all too clear in the pandemic is that without these safety nets, many migrant families are at risk of falling into destitution. Those who have had their work disrupted by COVID have had no income at all, leaving them reliant on food-banks and the temporary eviction ban to get by.

At RLC UK we increasingly fear the No Recourse to Public Funds policy is violating the imago dei in those impacted, stripping them of their fundamental rights. We want to create a forum of organisations, churches and individuals who currently help or want to help those with NRPF, to look at how we can create positive change in this area. We are also planning to directly campaign against NHS charges for those with NRPF, and we’ll explain more about our plans during this call.

If you are interested in hearing more about supporting those with NRPF, and our campaign, please join our forum on 7th September!*

*If you cannot make this date, but want to be involved, please email us at info@redletterchristians.org.uk to be kept up to date with the campaign and what comes out of the forum.
