Launch of 'No Safe Place,' a book about the traumatic life of Bekhal Mahmod and the so called ‘honour killing’ of her sister, Banaz Mahmod.

Bekhal Mahmod, the first daughter in British legal history to give evidence against family members in an honour killing trial, lives in constant fear for her life.*
Southall Black Sisters is honoured to launch No Safe Place, Bekhal’s painful and inspiring life story.
Chaired by award-winning journalist, writer and broadcaster Samira Ahmed, this event will mark the National Day of Memory for Victims of Honour Based Abuse.
This event will be livestreamed via Zoom for those unable to attend in person.

*Bekhal Mahmod is in hiding on a witness protection programme and cannot attend this event in person. Bekhal will be available via telephone throughout the Q & A .
