Event description

Description

The acclaimed documentary film-maker, Jonathan Stedall, whose most recent film was the two-part documentary, The Challenge of Rudolf Steiner, has published this year No Shore Too Far, a collection of heartfelt poems and meditations on the themes of death, bereavement and hope. He began these poems after the death of his wife, Jackie Stedall, in 2014. Taking in a broad view of the interconnectedness of all creation and drawing on the author’s faith in the eternal essence in each one of us, the poems touch upon the whole mystery of consciousness, evolution and human experience.

One important theme in the book looks at our potential to experience and understand more than just what we perceive through our everyday consciousness. Another theme that often emerges in the poems is that of memory, and the question of why it is, if we’ve lived before, if a spiritual world does exist, that we don’t remember these past experiences.

No Shore Too Far touches on these and other large questions about life and death, time and space, and the wisdom and beauty that surround us. Jonathan will share his explorations and reflections with us, in a wide-ranging conversation with Jeremy Smith.
