Hosted by the End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW) and the Women’s Budget Group (WBG)
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) remains a national emergency. As the Labour government begins shaping the delivery of its pledge to halve VAWG within a decade, what will it take to make that goal a reality?
This timely panel brings together experts and advocates to discuss findings from two major new reports: EVAW’s No Small Change, tracking developments in VAWG across the UK as well as the latest research from across the VAWG sector and partners; and new research from WBG estimating the lifetime economic cost of sexual violence in just one year at over £400 billion in England and Wales. Together, the findings show that failing to act comes at an immense human, societal and economic cost - but also that by addressing systemic issues, challenging harmful misogyny, and prioritising prevention, we can collectively strive to create a future without VAWG.
Panel speakers:
- Alex Davies-Jones MP, Minister for Victims & Violence Against Women and Girls
- Andrea Simon, Director, End Violence Against Women Coalition
- Dr Sara Reis, Deputy Director and Head of Research and Policy, Women’s Budget Group
- Ciara Bergman, CEO, Rape Crisis England & Wales
- Dr Emma Chan, Head of Policy & Research, School of Sexuality Education
Join us to explore the policies, funding, and systemic changes needed to end violence against women and girls — and what Labour must do next.
