Description

This autumn for the 12th consecutive year luton charity NOAH Enterprise are opening up a safe place of warmth in a local church hall to give people who would otherwise be sleeping outside some protection from the bitter cold when temperatures reach freezing.

To help keep people safe we need a group of volunteers available to be on call at short notice when we sound a rallying call due to cold weather on the horizon. The volunteers role are to work alongside the employed NOAH staff shift leader and assist them in helping the 15-30 rough sleepers settle down for the night, have a restful sleep and pack up in the morning. Volunteer shifts are from 7.30pm-11pm and 11pm-7am (sleeping).

If you are passionate about solidarity with the most vulnerable people in our local society who have experienced a number of complex needs then please get in touch. There is no commitment required, this meeting is an introduction to NOAH and an opportunity to find out more about what it is really like to stand alongside NOAH supporting peolpe in their time of need.

We would be delighted if those who have been part of the team in previous years could come along and renew their support and share their experiences with other people.

Free car parking is available at Luton Central Baptist Church through the Cumberland Street Entrance. The evening will consist of a presentation and tour of the church facilities then a short tour of the NOAH Welfare centre.
