Event description

Description

Nevill Holt Opera is delighted to announce a full-scale outdoor production of Noye's Fludde (Noah's Flood) by Benjamin Britten as the closing highlight of our 2017 Summer Festival.

Featuring 130 local Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Rutland school children, conducted by NHO's Artistic Director Nicholas Chalmers and directed by Royal Opera House Director of Opera Oliver Mears, this will be NHO's first community children's opera.

With performances at 2pm and 5pm on both Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July 2017, the Nevill Holt estate will play host to the community opera set in the stunning surrounds of it's landscaped gardens.

The relaxed environment and spectacular 50 minute production promises to make Noye's Fludde the perfect introduction to opera for children, young adults and families, and will count towards your ACE Artsmark.

Please note this is an outdoor production. Audiences will be seated on the ground. No rain cover or seating is provided. Audience members who have difficulty sitting on the ground are welcome to bring their own picnic chairs or stools.

ENTRANCE TIMES and FACILITIES

Grounds will open to ticket holders one hour before each performance. Audiences to Noah's Flood are invited to enjoy the beautiful landscaped gardens and outstanding collection of modern British sculpture on display in the grounds. Audience members are invited to bring their own picnics, or to enjoy food and drink on offer in the grounds from our Leicestershire hospitality partner, Stones Events.

Audiences are politely requested to vacate the gardens 30 minutes after the performance has finished, in order to allow us to reset for the next performance.
