Creativity Walk - Noise in the frame - photography workshop
Place a pinhole camera in the environment for a day-long exposure. Record ambient sound, snap instant reference shots, and jot quick notes to capture the full atmosphere. A quiet, hands-on exploration of light, sound and place. No experience needed, just curiosity.
On the day
We will meet outside Hamble Primary School https://w3w.co/pocket.years.pupils
Bus - 3 min walk from Verdon Avenue Bus Stop, opposite Hamble Court Bussiness Park.
Car Parking - available at Bursledon Station car park free of charge or at the River Hamble Country Park where the costs are 1 hr - £2.50, 2 hrs - £5.00, 3 hrs - £8.00, 4+ hrs - £9.50.
The walk is a total of 2 hours to include time for walking to and from the Station and plenty of time to explore nature along the route.
Please wear suitable walking shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Also bring along:
- a bottle of water
- an umbrella, waterproofs or sunhat/suncream (depending on the weather).
- anything else that’ll make you feel more comfortable.
We will end the walk back at Hamble Primary School.
Please Note:
Walk grade: Medium
Who should attend: Adults and children over 7 years old. Sorry pets are not allowed to join a led walk unless they are a guide or assistance dog.
Child friendly: Yes 7 years plus, children under 18 attending any of the activities must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. This walk includes a section of road without footways, hand-holding is essential for safety.
Walk distance: 4.2km
Facilities: There are toilets on route (https://w3w.co/chemistry.icons.rapid).
Access: A flat walk with some unmade footpaths and uneven surfaces, there are seats along the route without arms and backs. Not all the route is accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. For more information seek advice from the walk organiser.
About the Artist
Kristína Marošiová is a Slovak travel and documentary photographer based in Southampton.
Her work explores the often-overlooked beauty of everyday spaces, capturing the passage of time and humanity’s evolving relationship with the built environment. She documents the places we create, inhabit, and abandon through a quiet yet compelling visual narrative.
Kristína is deeply interested in the theme of connection and its exploration, examining the bonds that link us to nature, to one another, and to specific environments.
She is also a member of SCUL, a photography art collective based in Southampton.
