Nolo: Curating the Body
Open Studio & Performance Demonstration

6pm-7:30pm: Witness The Uncollective in the final rehearsal stages of their residency at Guest Projects.

7:30pm-8:30pm: Performance demonstration of Nolo: Curating the Body performed by Eve Stainton. This will take the form of Eve presenting the material in segments, combined with discussion and feedback.

This event marks the culmination of our cross-cultural residency between London and Montreal at Guest Projects. We have been exploring the scope of the word ‘curation’ and the implication this could have in the context of the body and choreography.

Six choreographers, all who have influenced us as contemporary dancers, artists, and people, were invited to share their perspectives on 'Curating the Body.'

With creative accompaniment from Henrietta Hale.

We developed a process which allowed us to work with the six choreographers ideas separately. We then entered into a process of manipulating, curating, merging, tossing (?) the material, in attempt to develop a solo piece of performance where all six ideas could exist within one body… in this case Eve’s. Lucky lady.
