Near Fatal Strangulation
This is a 3-hour course to raise awareness of the risks and the impact of Non-Fatal Strangulation. We will cover the definition and the types of strangulation, signs and indicators of strangulation the dangers of strangulation.
The Learning outcomes include:
* Understanding the seriousness and consequences of non-fatal strangulation as a form of domestic abuse and its potential for escalation to homicide.
* Recognising the signs and symptoms of non-fatal strangulation, both immediate and long-term.
* Identifying risk factors and warning signs associated with non-fatal strangulation.
* Learning how to respond effectively to situations involving non-fatal strangulation, including providing immediate assistance and support to victims.
* Understanding the legislation.
* Providing support and resources to victims and survivors of non-fatal strangulation, including safety planning and advocacy.
