Event description
Learn and deepen your Nonviolent Communication skills in the safety and comfort of your own home on the 8th & 9th August

About this Event

This fundraiser for CNVC means for €50 you can buy a place to learn and deepen your Nonviolent Communication (NVC) skills. Some of the topics are : social change, skills for conflict, education & parenting, empathy in business. And if €50 is too much or not enough, donate an amount of your choice and you can still join in!

With CNVC CERTIFIED TRAINERS Frank Gaschler (DE), Irmtraud Kauschat (DE), Louise Romain (FR/GB), Magdalena Sendor (PO) and Godfrey Spencer (FR/GB).

During the weekend we plan to explore how NVC enriches and deepens all relationships, bringing us closer to ourselves and to those around us. This is a practical and enlightening approach to emphatic listening and effective self-expression. We see how we can replace the dehumanising systems in which most of us grew up, allowing us to create better ways to be together, sharing power with each other.

Full of NVC activities, each day has individual choices for your level of engagement according to your own learning needs. Beginners are welcome as we have a special beginner track for you!

Equipment required : a webcam, microphone and an internet connection.

Language : English

A donation of €50 or more means you receive a €50 discount to 8-day Virtual Intensive Course from 13th to 22nd November 2020

Frank Gaschler (DE), Irmtraud Kauschat (DE), Louise Romain (FR/GB), Magdalena Sendor (PO) and Godfrey Spencer (FR/GB).

English is used as our shared common language during all sessions.

No translation is envisaged by the organisers, although our experience is that many bilingual people are happy to jump in when necessary on an ad hoc basis. You can also buy one ticket for two and work side by side with your own interpreter.

Through a range of activities, the course is co-created with you to provide a safe container where everybody taps into the living energy of an emerging community, you can participate, experiment and facilitate learning with experienced trainers, all certified with CNVC, to learn skills which are quickly transferred into daily life, making profound changes to how we live.

The programme structure is rich, with some participants who have NVC skills and awareness well beyond the early levels, whilst others are starting their NVC journey.

Our programme includes deepening awareness of needs, integrating NVC skills, handling conflicts, basics of mediation, personal growth and spiritual aspects of NVC, deep self-empathy, transforming enemy images and the pain of unmet needs, so that we can:

More details about the main topics :

  • Education/parenting: Same needs, different stories. How can we educate this and future generations of children to create new organizations whose goal is to meet human needs—to make life more wonderful for themselves and others? Explore ways of including children’s needs as fully as adults’ needs in making decisions, staying present and engaging fully, even in those most difficult moments of “no”, tantrums, or distance.
  • Conflict resolution: NVC’s dynamic communication techniques transform potential conflicts into peaceful dialogues. Learn simple tools to defuse arguments and create compassionate connections with family, friends, colleagues and other acquaintances.
  • Personal growth: Nonviolent Communication is the integration of four things: Consciousness: a set of principles that support living a life of compassion, collaboration, courage, and authenticity; Language: understanding how words contribute to connection or distance; Communication: knowing how to ask for what we want, how to hear others even in disagreement, and how to move toward solutions that work for all; Means of influence: sharing “power with others” rather than using “power over others”
  • Work place: Asking what the importance is of communication in the workplace might be best answered when we look at what happens when it is missing. The constraint of limited time because of work-related timeframes and deadlines and that people don’t go to work to become emotionally close with their co-workers means that what we are looking for when we apply NVC in a workplace setting, is enough connection so that people can best attend to the reason and purpose for being there: getting the work done.
  • Social change: From the manner in which we communicate, to the intention we bring to every interaction and the organisation structures we support, social change “begins with me.” Nonviolent Communication can help create an internal culture of peace that will help effect lasting social change.

You can find the schedule here.

Significant energy is required to process each application, so please don't register until you're sure of your availability to participate in the course. Places are confirmed on a first-come-first-served basis and the number of places is limited.

If, by the time you register, the course is full, you will be informed and added to a waiting list.

A donation of €50 or more means you receive a €50 discount to the 8-day Virtual Intensive Course from 13th to 22nd November 2020.
