A welcoming, friendly and sociable Nordic walking wellbeing workshop. Learn the basic Nordic walking technique and go for a gentle walk.
About this event
This is a welcoming, friendly and sociable Nordic walking wellbeing workshop where you will learn the basic Nordic walking technique and go for a gentle walk.
Nordic walking is based on regular walking, adding two specially designed poles to boost your balance, strength and overall wellbeing. It is fun, easy to learn and great for your joints and back. We will lend you poles, include some warm-ups and relaxation activities and give you lots of tips on how you can improve your regular walking too. It is suitable for all fitness levels and the park has plenty of benches where you can stop and rest.
Please come dressed appropriately for the weather conditions and wear trainers or walking shoes and clothing that will enable you to swing your arms easily. Please don’t bring a handbag, but a small backpack and water bottle (if it’s a hot day) is a good idea.
This is a particularly special day to be Nordic walking as the entire world community are running events over the weekend of 21st and 22nd May to celebrate INWA World Nordic Walking Day. There will be a worldwide Nordic walking buzz in the air which is sure to make this workshop extra special.
Over 18s only.
