Stepping into your power – a one day event for Designated Teachers, Social Workers and other professionals working with our Virtual School cohorts. We will explore how we can all ‘step into our power’ to ensure the young people we are working with can achieve and have successful futures.
Our keynote speakers are Kriss Akabusi, Alex Manners and Rachel Hutchinson.
Kriss Akabusi’s keynote ‘stepping into your power’ will focus on how we can motivate young people to see positively into their futures. Kriss will also deliver a ‘dream big’ interactive workshop for delegates. The workshop will allow delegates to take away some practical ideas that can be used with young people and inspire them to dream big for the young people they are working with.
Alex Manners will share his experiences from his time at school. He aims to help educate individuals about what school can be like for someone with Asperger’s and how we can work to better support neurodivergent young people.
Rachael Hutchinson is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon working in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital where she treats both adults and children. Rachael will focus on changing perceptions about disability to improve independence, self-belief, and true inclusion.
We will also have input from a range of other professionals and will hear from young people themselves who have ‘stepped into their power’
There will be a marketplace available throughout the day.
