Norfolk Walking and Cycling Festival 2019

Join us for an afternoon of exploring the rock pools of West Runton with the Norfolk Wildlife Trust!

We will walk a short 1¾ miles from Sheringham Promenade along the Norfolk Coast Path to West Runton beach, meeting Norfolk Wildlife Trust Officers for an afternoon of rock pooling and geology talks.

Afterwards, we will follow the linear route back to finish at Sheringham Promenade.

Please note this walk follows clifftops and climbs Beeston Bump twice.




Start Location: 13:30 @ Sheringham Promenade, by the MO Sheringham Museum Lifeboat Plain, Sheringham NR26 8BG

Finish Location: 17:00 @ Sheringham Promenade, by the MO Sheringham Museum Lifeboat Plain, Sheringham NR26 8BG

Family and child friendly: Yes

Distance of walk: 1¾ miles linear (3½ mile altogether)

Suitability: Low level – suitable for most levels of fitness i.e. short distance walks (under 3 miles) and rides (under 5 miles) over even terrain.

Getting there: You can reach Sheringham by Train from Norwich and Cromer on Greater Anglia services. You can also use the North Norfolk Railway which operates between Holt and Sheringham. (please refer to timetables).

Parking is available in Chequers Car Park Lifeboat Plain, Sheringham NR26 8BQ (charges may apply).

Refreshments: Local services available for refreshments at the start or end of event.

Toilet facilities: Public toilets are available at West Runton beach.
