You have indicated that you would like to receive cycle confidence training through the Norfolk Cycle Loan Scheme.
Cycle Confidence Training sessions take place at Eaton Park on Saturdays from 2-4pm and will help you to develop basic bike skills and confidence to cycle on roads. To book your session, please click on the link above.
Please note that Eaton Park has limited parking but toilet and cafe facilities are available. You are advised to bring suitable clothing and footwear for cycling and weather conditions, and a drink.
If you are unable to make a session, or if you have any questions, please contact the organiser.
I look forward to meeting you.
Peter - National Standard Cycling Instructor
Is there a minimum age requirement?
The minimum age for the Norfolk Cycle Loan Scheme is 16.
Where do I meet you at Eaton Park?
We will meet at the Pavilion just outside the cafe in the centre of Eaton Park.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the session?
We encourage sustainable and healthier travel wherever possible. If you have to drive, there are car parks at either end of Eaton Park, both accessible from South Park Avenue. Please note it can be busy at times.
What should I bring to the session?
Your bike, a helmet (optional) and a drink. Please wear suitable clothing for the weather, sessions will continue in all but very extreme weather. Slip on footwear is not recommended.
What will I be doing in the training session?
We want to be able to cater for all levels, from beginner to those who want to be able to tackle roundabouts. Generally we will try to tailor the session to meet whatever it is that you would like to be more confident at.
Usually we will start with basic braking, balance and control, and how to use gears, and then progress to using roads.
On road training will start gently developing positioning and turning at junctions, and will progress to busier roads, traffic lights and roundabouts for those that want to.
Can I book more than one session?
The Cycle Loan Scheme funds one free session per person. If you feel you would benefit from further help, you can discuss this with the instructor or organiser, but further sessions may incur a fee.
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or telephone 01603 223370
