What age is this course for?

This course is for juniors aged 9 to 12 inclusive. If you're 13 or over, check out our separate one-day beginners’ courses.

Question 2

Do we need our own equipment?

Nope – we’ll provide everything your child needs to get started, including bows, arrows, and safety gear.

Question 3

What should my child wear?

Accepted Answer

Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes are essential (no sandals or flip flops). Avoid anything too baggy, like loose sleeves or scarves, as they can get in the way. If your child has long hair, please tie it back for safety.

Question 4

Do I need to stay during the session?

Accepted Answer

Yes – a parent, guardian, or responsible carer must stay throughout the session. You're welcome to bring a camping chair or picnic blanket to stay comfy while watching.

Question 5

What happens if we miss a week?

Accepted Answer

That’s fine – we allow for one missed session and offer a sixth session to catch up or provide extra support if needed.

Question 6

Is my child covered by insurance?

Accepted Answer

Yes – each participant is covered by beginners' insurance for up to six sessions. After that, they’d need to join the club to continue shooting.

Question 7

What happens after the course finishes?

Accepted Answer

We’ll award a certificate and help your child start working towards their first progression badges. If they want to continue, we’ll guide you through joining the club – plus you’ll get £5 off the first year of membership.

Question 8

Will they be shooting real arrows?

Accepted Answer

Yes – under careful supervision, they’ll be using real archery equipment from week one. Safety is a top priority, and we introduce everything in a controlled and supportive way.

Question 9

What if the weather’s bad?

Accepted Answer

If it’s poor when we’re setting up, we’ll move indoors. We’ll always prioritise safety and comfort.
