The breakfast session will include Stan Higgins - CEO of North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) presenting on 'Mega Trends - Keep an Eye on the Big Picture'. This will cover an overview of the big issues impacting on the chemical industry locally and also the trends that will influence global markets in the future.
Jon Helliwell, Centre Process and Innovation(CPI), Printed Electronics Technical Centre (PETEC) will show how many of the ‘Star trek’ technology predictions are now being produced in Sedgefield, from paper thin display screens which can be rolled up and put under your arm, light film walls which can cover a whole wall or ceiling, to pill dispensing cartons that remind you when it’s time to take your medication and where we are going beyond.
Keith Stockdale, International Trade Adviser from UK Trade & Investment will be discussing 'Opportunities for the Extended Supply Chain'. The chemical and pharmaceutical industry has a need for many products and services – from supply of sandwiches, advertising, printing, engineering, right through to the plant maintenance, build and management – the presentation will cover opportunities both here in the key growth markets where opportunities abound.
To complete the morning we will hold a Q&A session and will finish with a touch of networking.
