Event description

Description

Have you ever felt frustrated by a system that only seems to widen the attainment gap between students? Ever wondered if there is a silver bullet to help children from deprived communities get on in life? Ever fancied talking about policy in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with colleagues from a wide range of backgrounds?

Then come and join us at the relaunch of the North East Policy Network, where you can hear from former TeachFirst-er, now Civil Service Policy Advisor Sophie Hoare, about how she used her front-line experience teaching to make policy recommendations in government on how to break the poverty cycle in young families

Where: the setttle down cafe, 61-62 Thornton Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4AW

When: Thursday 6th April, 6pm.

What: Can 'Early intervention' really break the poverty cycle?'
