Event description

Description

During this workshop, led by Julie Henry Social Worker & Frontline Practice Tutor, we will explore the needs of disabled children from a safeguarding perspective. We will identify and promote positive child protection practice which is informed by the relevant legal, policy and theoretical context. This interactive workshop will make use of discussion, case studies and group activity to enhance our working knowledge and practice.

Julie left statutory social work practice in September 2016 to take up her post as a Practice Tutor on the Frontline programme. She also delivers and develops multi agency safeguarding training as part of a local authority safeguarding board. Prior to this Julie’s background was in child protection, as a senior practitioner in a children with disabilities team which remains her area of interest and finally she was a manager of a local authority fostering team. Julie completed the Firstline leadership programme in 2016.

As this is a free event, food will be available to purchase on site. We have a great day lined up and hope you can join us??
