About Grange Town Primary School

Grangetown Primary School became an award winning platinum OPAL school in October 2023, following 18 months of total investment in developing their school grounds and upskilling staff. Described as a game changer, playtimes went from being problematic and boring to a hive of adventure and fun. This transformation resulted in happier children, more relaxed staff and, ultimately, more learning time. It was a win for all. The school continues to develop its wonderful grounds and sees play as an integral part to Grangetown's ethos and offer.

Please note this event is for schools considering starting the OPAL programme only, not current OPAL schools. Non-attendance will be at a cost of £25.

Organised by

The OPAL Primary Programme is the premier award winning programme helping schools to make every playtime amazing for every child.

The programme was developed by Michael Follett, a former school improvement adviser and teacher who has spent the past 23 years specialising in creating this programme to support school improvement through better play.  The OPAL programme has been delivered to around 1000 schools in the UK and is rapidly expanding in Canada, SE Asia and all across Europe. There are 22 mentors delivering the programme, and you can get in touch to request a free introduction session via the website.
