Will it be gi or nogi?

This event will be a gi event.

Question 2

Does it matter what affiliation I am from?

Accepted Answer

No. RGA Marlow have opened up their club to us to run our event in our fashion. However, out of respect, please don't wear the gi from another affiliation.

Question 3

Will there be sparring?

Accepted Answer

Yes there will be time for sparring, however if for any reason you are not able, if you are injured etc, it is not compulsory. If you are super-keen, remember it is not a tournament, this is an opportunity to build relationships.

Question 4

What time should I arrive?

Arrive about 1pm in order to get ready, use the toilet, secure your belongings and make sure you have a drink.

Question 5

How will the class start?

Accepted Answer

We will line up in grade order with the black belt at the front of the class. This will be an opportunity to show respect and to allow an introduction to the group.

Question 6

How will the session be structured?

Accepted Answer

It will be a traditional class format with an opportunity to partner up and practice the techniques, ask questions etc. You will be encouraged throughout to team up with different partners in order to make the most of the networking opportunity.

Question 7

Will there be an opportunity to get together after the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We will decide on a location nearby to get together either for something to eat and/or drink. This will be casually, it won't be a booked dinner etc.
