North West Adoption Conference: The Post-Adoption Support Challenge

The Post Adoption Support Challenge
Adoption support services are both essential and critical in securing happy and successful placement outcomes. It is vital for local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies to provide robust, networked and an appropriate range of support services to families and to children and young people in education, health and social care.
It is also a reality that many parents struggle to deal with challenging behaviour, then feel isolated and unable to cope and yet do not wish to seek help through fear of being seen as failing.
Attendance at this conference is essential for everyone working in adoption support and/or who is striving to secure and deliver those services which will improve the lives of adopted children and their families.
It is also relevant for approved adopters and their families who have to face the day to day challenges of raising very vulnerable children, many of whom will have experienced maltreatment and the traumas of sustained abuse and neglect.
