THE NORTHAMPTON SCHOOL SPORTS APTITUDE TEST IS BEING RUN AT THE NORTHAMPTON SCHOOL SITE ON THORPEVILLE, NN3 7TR.

Northampton School Sports Aptitude Tests

If you wish to be considered for a place at Northampton School under the Sports Aptitude criterion then you must book a slot for these tests. There will be no tests available after the application deadline of 31st October 2025.

If you are unable to book a slot online or if all available test times are taken, then please contact us on 01604 815815.

When registering for a test slot, you MUST put your child's name and not your name.

Please note the following:

Your child DOES NOT have to do an Aptitude test if they do not want to.

If your child does not take one of the aptitude tests, then any subsequent application for a place at the school will not be prejudiced.

If your child does sit one of the aptitude tests then the results of these will not prejudice any subsequent application for a place at the school.

YOU MUST ONLY BOOK ONE TIME SLOT FOR YOUR CHILD.

(Any duplicate bookings will have the later test time removed)

Parents/Carers/Students SHOULD ARRIVE between 10 and 15 minutes before the designated start time of their test. All visitors to the site will be required to remain on site for the duration of the aptitude test.

FAQs for this specific event

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

This test applies for Year 6 children who wish to be considered for a place at Northampton School under the Aptitude criterion for September 2025 entry.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Please park in the staff car park or take public transport.. Please use the main hall entrance to enter the school for the Sports Aptitude test.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Your child does not need to bring anything for the test.

W hat should my child wear to the Sports Aptitude Test?

Some of the aptitude test will be conducted outdoors and attendees should dress appropriately for the temperatures and weather conditions. Attendees will be expected to wear trainers for each of the tests. Please note, each attendee will be required to wear a distinct coloured/numbered bib throughout the testing, which will be provided by the school.

My child suffers from a medical condition - what should I do?

It is likely that applicants will push themselves physically during this testing. The parents of any applicant who has a pre-existing medical condition should make the school aware of this prior to testing through the application process on Eventbrite. Any applicant who is asthmatic should ensure they use their inhaler prior to exercise and carry it with them to the testing as necessary.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

No, it is not transferable.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes.

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

Yes. You must bring a printed copy or a copy on your mobile of the ticket to the test session. Please arrive between 10 and 15 minutes before your time slot for your test.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

The name on the ticket must match the name of the attendee who will be the future applicant to the school. You must not put a parent/carer's name.
