Event description
Northern Girls presented by Pilot Theatre in association with ARCADE

About this Event

Join Pilot and ARCADE in a special outdoor setting in Scarborough to hear stories from Northern Girls by firelight. Presented as part of the Signal Fires Festival.

In collaboration with ARCADE in Scarborough Pilot is setting free the stories of girls and women who live along the North East coastline in autumn 2020, encouraging them to write and present tales that matter to them most in 2020.

The performances will feature short pieces from Asma Elbadawi, Zoe Cooper, Maureen Lennon, Charley Miles all commissioned especially for this event, as well as work created with spoken word artist Hannah Davies and a group of young women from Scarborough, to create a magical celebration of northern women’s voices. A predominantly female creative team, comprised of theatre artists from the area will come together to direct and stage the work as fire-lit presentations in Scarborough.

Headphones

Please note the audio for this show is accessed via headphones (AUX jack). You can bring your own or if you need us to provide some, you can add them at checkout.

How does the ticket system work?

In order to maintain and observe government social distancing guidelines each ticket sold is for a bubble which can seat one or two people.

Each bubble will be clearly marked and will be an appropriate distance from the surrounding bubbles.

If you purchase one £10 ticket to this event that ticket allows admission for two people to be seated in the same bubble.

Each bubble for this event seats two people, if you wish to book for four people you will have to buy two tickets. If you are a singular booker you will still need to buy a £10 ticket and you will have the bubble to yourself.

Where will the event take place?

The event will take place outdoors in the car park of the YMCA Theatre Scarborough.

What happens if there is bad weather?

The performance will go ahead even if there is some rain so please come prepared, wrap up warm and wear a waterproof if needed. In the event of extreme weather conditions where the performance may need to be cancelled ticket holders will be notified. Refunds are available in the event of cancellation.
